Why do LED lights have an energy efficiency class of E, F or G?

The energy efficiency rating scale was revised in 2023 to make it clearer and more future-proof. The new classes range from A to G and replace the old A+, A++, and A+++.

LED lights that are now rated F or G were often previously rated A+++ and are still extremely efficient. This change doesn't mean the products are inferior, but rather that the scale has become more stringent.
