Manufacturer's Warranty Terms
Thank you for choosing a product from LUMIÈRE Design! We want you to enjoy your luminaire for a long time. That is why we offer a manufacturer's warranty on electronic components such as LEDs, transformers, and drivers.
§ 1 Scope of warranty
The manufacturer's warranty applies exclusively to the electronic components of the products:
- LEDs
- Transformers
- Drivers
Other components, such as housings, glass covers, switches, or mechanical parts, are excluded from the warranty. The extended manufacturer's warranty applies exclusively to private individuals (consumers within the meaning of Section 13 of the German Civil Code). Commercial purchasers (businesses within the meaning of Section 14 of the German Civil Code) are excluded from the extended manufacturer's warranty. They are subject exclusively to their statutory warranty rights.
§ 1a Additional conditions for V2 (app-controlled) luminaires – firmware & app connection
(1) What is V2?
“V2 luminaires” refers to all models that can be controlled via an app and connected to the Tuya or Smart Life apps.
(2) Requirement for the manufacturer's warranty for V2 luminaires
For the manufacturer's warranty to apply to the electronic components specified in § 1, you must:
- put the V2 luminaire into operation upon receipt and pair it with the app (Tuya or Smart Life) and
- reconnect it to the app or keep it connected no later than 3 months after installation so that the firmware remains up to date and can receive updates when necessary.
(3) Updates & maintenance
We provide firmware updates via Tuya/Smart Life. Please ensure that the luminaire is regularly online so that security-, stability-, or compatibility-related updates can be installed.
§ 2 Warranty period by product category
The duration of the manufacturer's warranty depends on the respective product category:
- Pendant lights: 5 years (since February 1, 2023)
- Floor lamps: 5 years (since February 1, 2023)
- Table lamps: 2 years (since February 1, 2023)
- Battery-powered table lamps: 2 years (since February 1, 2023)
- Battery-powered floor lamps: 2 years (since February 1, 2023)

- Other items: 2 years (since February 1, 2023)
Exception for DALI-2 DT8 luminaires
For luminaires equipped with a DALI-2 DT8 driver (Tunable White), a warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase applies, deviating from the standard policy.
This provision applies exclusively to lights with integrated DALI-DT8 control technology and is identified accordingly on the respective product page.
The warranty begins on the date of purchase. Please keep your proof of purchase safe, as it is required as evidence when making a warranty claim.
§ 3 Warranty exclusion for B-stock products
No manufacturer's warranty is provided for B-stock products designated as used, having cosmetic or technical defects, or being demonstration units. Your statutory claims, particularly warranty rights under the applicable statutory provisions, remain unaffected.
§ 4 What is excluded from the warranty?
The warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by improper use, improper installation, or modifications to the product.
- Damage caused by external influences such as water, fire, power surges, or other environmental effects.
- Normal use or wear and tear.
- Products that have been repaired or modified without our consent.
§ 5 Loss of warranty in the event of structural modifications
The manufacturer's warranty becomes void if structural modifications are made to the light or its electronic components. These include, in particular:
- Shortening, extending, or replacing cables,
- Removing, replacing, or modifying electronic components such as LEDs, transformers, or drivers,
- Opening, rebuilding, or modifying housings or circuits independently.
Such modifications may impair the product's safety, functionality, and service life and are therefore not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
This provision does not affect your statutory warranty rights under the applicable regulations.
§ 6 How do you claim under the warranty?
If a problem occurs with one of the aforementioned electronic components, please report it via our portal. We require the following from you:
- A brief description of the defect.
- Photos of the product and the defect, if possible.
We will review your request and decide whether a repair, replacement, or refund will be provided.
§ 6a Installation and shipping costs
The manufacturer's warranty covers exclusively electronic components (LEDs, transformers, drivers). Costs for disassembly, packaging, shipping, reassembly, or other installation work are not covered even in the event of a warranty claim. Such services must be carried out independently by the customer or commissioned from appropriate service providers at the customer's own expense.
§ 7 Your statutory rights
This manufacturer's warranty supplements your statutory rights and does not restrict them.
