Manufacturer's warranty conditions

Thank you for choosing a LUMIÈRE Design product! We want you to enjoy your light for a long time. That's why we offer a manufacturer's warranty on the electronic components such as LEDs, transformers, and drivers.

§ 1 Scope of Warranty

The manufacturer's warranty applies exclusively to the electronic components of the products:

  • LEDs
  • transformers
  • driver

Other components, such as housings, glass covers, switches, or mechanical parts, are excluded from the warranty. The extended manufacturer's warranty applies exclusively to private individuals (consumers as defined in § 13 of the German Civil Code). Commercial buyers (entrepreneurs as defined in § 14 of the German Civil Code) are excluded from the extended manufacturer's warranty. For them, only the statutory warranty rights apply.

§ 1a Additional conditions for V2 (app-controlled) luminaires – Firmware & app connection

(1) What is V2?
All models that can be controlled via app and connected to the Tuya or Smart Life apps are considered "V2 lights".

(2) Prerequisite for the manufacturer's warranty for V2 lamps
In order for the manufacturer's warranty to apply to the electronic components mentioned in § 1, you must have the V2 light:

  • Upon receipt, put it into operation and pair it with the app (Tuya or Smart Life) and
  • Reconnect to the app or keep connected no later than 3 months after installation to ensure the firmware remains up-to-date and can receive updates if necessary.

(3) Updates & Maintenance
We provide firmware updates via Tuya/Smart Life. Please ensure that the light is regularly online so that security, stability, or compatibility updates can be installed.

§ 2 Warranty period according to product category

  • Pendant lights: 5 years (since 01.02.2023)

  • Table lamps: 2 years (since 01.02.2023)

Exception for DALI-2 DT8 luminaires

For luminaires equipped with a DALI-2 DT8 driver (Tunable White), a warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase applies, deviating from the standard regulation.

This regulation applies exclusively to luminaires with integrated DALI-DT8 control technology and is marked accordingly on the respective product page.

The warranty begins on the date of purchase. Please keep your proof of purchase safe, as it is required to make a warranty claim.

§ 3 Warranty Exclusion for B-Stock

No manufacturer's warranty is provided for B-stock products, which are marked as used, with optical or technical defects, or as demonstration models. Your statutory rights, in particular your warranty rights under applicable legal provisions, remain unaffected.

§ 4 What is excluded from the warranty?

The warranty does not apply to:

  • Damage caused by improper use, improper installation or modifications to the product.
  • Damage caused by external influences such as water, fire, overvoltage or other environmental impacts.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Products that have been repaired or modified without our consent.

§ 5 Loss of warranty in case of structural alterations

The manufacturer's warranty is void if any structural modifications are made to the light fixture or its electronic components. This includes, in particular:

  • Shortening, lengthening, or replacing cables,
  • Removing, replacing, or modifying electronic components such as LEDs, transformers, or drivers,
  • The independent opening, modification, or adaptation of enclosures or circuits.

Such modifications can affect the safety, functionality and lifespan of the product and are therefore not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

This provision does not affect your statutory warranty rights under the applicable regulations.

§ 6 How do you make a warranty claim?

If you experience a problem with any of the aforementioned electronic components, please report it via our portal . We will need the following information from you:

  • A brief description of the defect.
  • Photos of the product and the defect, if possible.

We will review your request and decide whether to repair, replace, or refund it.

§ 6a Assembly and shipping costs

The manufacturer's warranty covers only electronic components (LEDs, transformers, drivers). Costs for disassembly, packaging, shipping, reassembly, or other installation work are not covered, even under warranty . The customer is responsible for performing these services independently or arranging them at their own expense through appropriate service providers.

§ 7 Your legal rights

This manufacturer's warranty complements your statutory rights and does not limit them.
