The energy efficiency rating scale was revised in 2021 to make it clearer and more future-proof. The new classes range from A to G and replace the old A+, A++, and A+++. LED luminaires that are now rated F or G often used to be A+++ – their technology hasn't deteriorated. The scale has simply become significantly stricter. Currently, only highly specialized LED spotlights with cold, uninviting light achieve classes A to D. Homely LED lights with warm light, dimmability, and high color rendering almost always land in the E, F, or G ratings. This isn't due to poor efficiency, but rather to deliberate lighting quality. The difference in electricity costs is often only €3–4 per year—even with daily use.

How bright is the Hovaro really – is it bright enough as a main light?

With 363 lumens and 5 watts, the Hovaro is a mood light, not a room floodlight. It's ideal as accent lighting above a bedside table, a small kitchen island, or a reading nook – anywhere you want focused, cozy light. Due to its design, it's too dim for larger work surfaces, dining tables, or as the sole light source in a room. The brightness is continuously dimmable via remote control and app, and the color temperature is freely adjustable from very warm white (2200K) to daylight-like (6000K).

Is the height adjustment truly stepless – and do I need tools for it?

The height can be adjusted in two steps: The cable on the canopy can be shortened or lengthened by pushing it in or pulling it out (using a small pin). There is also a screw on the light fixture itself that allows you to fine-tune the hanging depth. This step requires a screwdriver – it's not a tool-free pulley mechanism like some other lights. However, both adjustments can be made even after installation without completely removing the light. The adjustable hanging depth ranges from 10 to 200 cm.

Can I also control the lamp with a light switch?

Yes! Of course, you can also turn our Hovaro pendant light on and off with a light switch.

How long does it take to assemble the lamp?

We recommend taking 15-30 minutes for assembly.
