The energy efficiency rating scale was revised in 2021 to make it clearer and more future-proof. The new classes range from A to G and replace the old A+, A++, and A+++ ratings.

LED lights rated F or G today were often rated A+++ in the past – their technology has not become less efficient. The scale simply became significantly stricter. At present, only highly specialized LED spotlights with cold, uninviting light achieve classes A to D.

Comfortable LED lights with warm light, dimming capability, and high color rendering almost always fall into classes E, F, or G. This is not due to poor efficiency, but to deliberately chosen light quality. The difference in electricity costs is often only €3–4 per year – even with daily use.

The ceiling light is not suitable for wall mounting because the LED covers, which refract the light and provide a pleasant lighting experience, are not firmly screwed in place but rest on the light due to gravity. If wall mounted, the LED covers would therefore not stay in their intended position.

No, the ceiling light is not dimmable. We deliberately decided against dimmable LEDs for the Aurelia ceiling light, as ceiling lights are primarily used to illuminate a room rather than to create a cozy ambiance. Nevertheless, we chose the color temperature of 2700 K so that the light can both create a cozy light pattern and completely illuminate a room. Thus, Aurelia strikes a balance between room illumination and coziness.

The LEDs in the ceiling light can only be replaced by a specialist or our repair service. Because we use high-quality OSRAM components for our LEDs, the likelihood of the LEDs failing over time is very low. The light is also covered by our 2-year warranty.
