The energy efficiency rating scale was revised in 2021 to make it clearer and more future-proof. The new classes range from A to G and replace the old A+, A++, and A+++ ratings.

LED lights rated F or G today were often rated A+++ in the past – their technology has not become less efficient. The scale simply became significantly stricter. At present, only highly specialized LED spotlights with cold, uninviting light achieve classes A to D.

Comfortable LED lights with warm light, dimming capability, and high color rendering almost always fall into classes E, F, or G. This is not due to poor efficiency, but to deliberately chosen light quality. The difference in electricity costs is often only €3–4 per year – even with daily use.

Good question, because that's the most common reason customers return the Aurelia: the light is bigger than expected! We recommend the 50cm version for rooms of approximately 15 m² and larger, while the 35cm version is a good fit for rooms between 8 and 15 m². For small hallways or compact bedrooms under 8 m², the Aurelia would visually dominate – in that case, take a look at our Sava or Esol models instead. If in doubt: simply lay a tape measure on the floor and measure the dimensions – this greatly helps with visualization.

No – the Aurelia is not dimmable and is not compatible with an external dimmer switch. We deliberately chose not to include this feature because ceiling lights are primarily intended for general room illumination. Instead, we opted for an extra warm color temperature of 2700 K, ensuring the light has a cozy feel even at full brightness.

With 3420 lm (50cm) or 2237 lm (35cm), the Aurelia is a very bright light – comparable to three to four classic 60-watt incandescent bulbs. It is perfectly adequate as the main light source for a typical living room of 15–20 m². However, those seeking only soft, indirect ambient light will likely find the Aurelia too bright – in that case, combining it with a pendant light or a floor lamp in a corner of the room would be advisable.
